Maybe instead of creating an institutional story meant to distinguish one congregation from another, we should instead see the Christian community as an interpretive community whose purpose is to connect the personal stories and imaginations to the over-arching salvation narrative thus giving deeper meaning to the personal story whilst connecting the individual to the divine narrative alone.
